Why spray foam for Quonset huts

Quonset huts — the American prefabricated arch-roof buildings stamped from corrugated steel — are widely used across the UK and beyond as industrial stores, workshops, warehousing and agricultural sheds. Their lightweight curved single skin gives almost no thermal resistance, so the buildings swing with the weather and shed condensation off the steel onto stock, machinery and floors below.

Enverge closed-cell spray foam (Nexseal LE) is sprayed onto the inner curved corrugated shell of the Quonset hut, self-bonding and expanding to follow the arch as it cures. Curved, corrugated structures — Nissen huts, Quonset huts, grain silos — defeat rigid insulation entirely: boards can't follow the arch and battening destroys the interior. Sprayed closed-cell foam follows the curve exactly, bonding to every corrugation with zero penetrations of the original sheet.

Why does my Quonset hut get so much condensation?
