Why spray foam for agricultural buildings

Farm buildings take a beating: livestock breath, slurry and damp crops load the air with moisture that condenses on cold cement-fibre, asbestos or steel sheeting. The result is constant dripping onto animals, bedding and stored feed, rusting fixings, rotting timber and ageing roofs that flake and leak. Many older barns also carry fragile asbestos-cement sheets that owners are nervous to touch.

Enverge closed-cell spray foam is applied straight to the inside of the roof sheeting, self-bonding as it cures into a seamless, insulating, vapour-resistant skin. It lifts the sheet surface above dew point so condensation stops forming, and in the same pass it can encapsulate ageing asbestos-cement — a non-licensed process — locking down fibres while reinforcing tired sheets without stripping the roof.

Enverge closed-cell spray foam gives the strongest anti-condensation and thermal performance for agricultural roofs — bonding tightly to cement-fibre, asbestos and metal.

Enverge Nexseal LE closed-cell foam is sprayed to the underside of agricultural roof sheeting, self-bonding on cure into a continuous insulating, vapour-resistant layer. It raises sheet surfaces above dew point to control condensation, reinforces brittle cement-fibre or metal sheets, and can encapsulate ageing asbestos-cement in the same application as a non-licensed process.

In detail

Specification & compliance for agricultural buildings

Closed-cell foam bonds chemically to profiled metal, box-profile and cement-fibre sheets, following every ridge and trough with no fixings, battens or framework. Because the foam carries its own integral vapour barrier, the cold underside that condensation forms on is removed in the same pass — a 15–25 mm coat is typically enough to stop drip, while 25–75 mm delivers a genuine thermal upgrade with U-values down to around 0.18 W/m²K in the right build-up.

Application progresses quickly across open spans, so live operations can usually keep running while zoned sections are sprayed. Where a fire-rated finish is specified, the foam is coated with DC315 intumescent to achieve Euroclass B-s2,d0, and every installation is handed over with full documentation and a 25-year manufacturer-backed product warranty.

Can spray foam stop condensation dripping in my livestock shed?

Yes. Closed-cell foam raises the inner surface of the roof sheeting above dew point, so the warm, moisture-laden air from animals and bedding no longer condenses overhead. That ends the persistent dripping onto stock, bedding and feed.

Can you encapsulate my asbestos-cement roof at the same time?

Yes. Spraying closed-cell foam to the underside encapsulates ageing asbestos-cement sheeting in the same pass, locking down fibres without stripping the roof. Encapsulation is a non-licensed process, avoiding the cost and disruption of full removal.

Will it help protect stored grain and feed?
