The challenge
Community sports clubs run on tight budgets and shared spaces that need to stay comfortable for members, players and visitors year-round. At Bridgnorth Rugby Club an exposed concrete soffit offered no thermal resistance, leaving the space beneath it cold and prone to the heat loss that drives up running costs for a volunteer-run venue.
Concrete soffits are also a classic location for condensation, where warm internal air meets a cold underside. The club needed an insulation solution that could be applied directly to the soffit, follow its profile and any service penetrations, and work in an occupied building without major disruption to the club's activities.
The ThermoFoam solution
ThermoFoam applied Enverge closed-cell spray foam directly to the concrete soffit. The closed-cell foam self-bonds to the concrete as it cures, forming a continuous insulating layer that follows the soffit profile and works neatly around beams and service penetrations without the gaps left by rigid boards.
The same application insulates the soffit and seals it against air movement, raising the surface temperature on the warm side and adding meaningful thermal resistance to a previously bare structure. ThermoFoam worked to the manufacturer's specification, controlling foam thickness to give a clean, even finish across the soffit.
The result
Bridgnorth Rugby Club gained a warmer, better-insulated space beneath the concrete soffit, helping reduce heat loss for its members and visitors. As an Enverge installation, the work is backed by a 25-year manufacturer-backed product warranty, giving the club long-term value from a single, durable upgrade.
